The Ubisoft Forward 2023 opened with a trailer for Avatar: Frontiers Of Pandora, and continued to reveal a December 7, 2023 release date, then went even further to provide a deep-dive into the gameplay and the core narrative.
James Cameron also made an appearance, and spoke about how his studio Lightstorm Entertainment has been collaborating with Ubisoft to create Avatar: Frontiers Of Pandora.
It was a huge look at a game that until now, we’d seen very little of. Now, it feels like we have a much better understanding of how Ubisoft Massive has used the world of Pandora to create what very much looks to be an Avatar skinned Far Cry.
That’s not to say it didn’t look exciting. Ubisoft Massive seems to have done an excellent job of weaving Avatar lore all throughout Frontiers Of Pandora, with a heavy emphasis on the Na’vi’s connection with the world of Pandora, and every creature around them.
Where it feels very Far Cry-y comes with the RDA as your main antagonist, and how you’ll be ridding Pandora of them one enemy base at a time.

What’s most exciting about all this news however, is that we finally have a release date to look forward to.
By the look of the gameplay shown, while it is clearly a classic Ubisoft formula put to use, Frontiers Of Pandora still has a chance to be an excellent open world to explore.
